DSCN5023Buckleys Luck cruising
Some great moments were had Sunday with many good sails to the leadlight and back to Mangrove Point, mainly due to the BOM forecast which Alan had disdain for most of the morning!
However, when sailing ‘limited ballasted’ yachts it is wise to be cautious to a degree.
What an enjoyable morning we had and some great sailing we experienced, although under reefed mainsail and small jibs. The wonderful Dazzy Bobler saliled by Peter Major never ceases to amaze us how she sails with TS’s nearly twice her size and is always on their tails. A credit to her skipper and chosen craft for sure.
Enjoying the day were the yachts Scallywag (Kaz and her crew of two), Two Peas in a Pod (Alan and Tina) Esmarelda (Syd), Buckley’s Luck (Brenton), and Dazzy Bobler (Peter).
After lunch we sailed again for the lead lights only to notice the forecasted winds were obvious out further in the gulf by ‘whitecaps’ so we all turned turtle to head back to Pirie. The whitecaps and associated wind greeted us at Mangrove Point and Kaz in Scallywag still carried her full sail rig which gave us all much delight in the round up dances she displayed.
We gathered at the yacht club pontoon after securing the boats and all were agreed what a wonderful day we had.
We will be sailing the club trailer sailers and yachts on a monthly basis and welcome other club members or interested newcomers to approach us, we are only too happy to expose you to the wonderful thrill of sailing.
Cheers,
The Fastest TS on the day.
