We welcome any interested people  sailors and offer a program of sail training and fun sailing activities for all ages over the age of six.

Our  sailing program lessons and activities are held on scheduled Saturday mornings from 9:30am to 12 noon followed by a sausage sizzle at the Club rooms.  Sailing School dates are set out in the sailing training calendar.

Each lesson includes theory and practice sailing in Pacer dinghies in the turning basin in Port Pirie. At least one safety boat will support each lesson and the course is run by an Australian Sailing accredited dinghy sailing instructor.

The Program for the 2019/2020 season will cover the syllabus for Australian Sailing Start Sailing 1 and 2, Better Sailing, and Start Racing.  Students will get a certificate confirming competence to the level they achieve.

The cost of each six week program is $70.  If the student sailor is not already a family member, they will need to join as junior members to the Royal Port Pirie Yacht Club for the 2019/2020 year.  The annual junior membership fee is $35.00.

Parents are welcome to be involved in the junior sailing program with both land and water based activities. On play days parents who are members and who can sail are welcome to join their children in the club dinghies if there is room.

Below are the information sheet, application form and calendar for our junior sailing program. Please present the application form signed by a parent at the beginning of the program.
